What is legal in Bali, and what Panya will route.
BPOM (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan, the Indonesian National Agency of Drug and Food Control) regulates medicines federally; the rules apply identically across Bali, Java, and the rest of Indonesia. Semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro) are registered as prescription-only medicines. Late-2025 BPOM enforcement tightened materially on courier-imported pharmaceuticals; the personal-import path that worked in 2023-2024 carries real seizure risk in 2026.
Three routes that stay on the right side of the line.
Bali international hospital with imported brand product
BIMC Hospital (Kuta + Nusa Dua), Siloam Hospitals Denpasar, Kasih Ibu Hospital. International-standard care, English-fluent staff, BPOM-channel imported Mounjaro and Wegovy. Cost runs USD 230 to 420 per month for the standard 5 to 10 mg dose, consultation included. International-hospital prescriptions are formatted for foreign insurance and most travel-insurance plans accept them. Brand-product stocking is the strongest in Sanur (BIMC) and Denpasar (Siloam); Ubud and Canggu clinics typically refer to those hospitals for the prescription itself.
Nomad-friendly expat clinic in Canggu / Ubud / Sanur
Body Tonic (Canggu), Cocoon Medical Spa (Seminyak / Canggu), Penida Plus, Hydromedica. Wellness-and-aesthetic framing, English UI, USD pricing on demand, faster booking than the international hospitals. Cost runs USD 280 to 400 per month for brand product. Some clinics offer compounded variants at lower price points; compounded carries real quality variance in Bali specifically because the upstream compounding ecosystem is less mature than in Bangkok. Panya scores compounded clinics on COA disclosure, source pharmacy, and refrigeration handling.
Travel and use abroad
If you spend time in Thailand, Singapore, or another country where Panya can route, the recommendation fits that country's rules. A legally purchased prescription medication brought back into Indonesia as a personal-use carry-on supply (typically up to 30 days) with a doctor's letter and original packaging is generally tolerated at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport. Courier-shipped pharmaceuticals from non-BPOM channels are a different story since the late-2025 enforcement tightening: increasingly held, returned, or seized. The 2023-2024 'just ship it from Thailand' pattern stopped working.
No grey-channel imports, no peptide menu without sterility QC.
Late-2025 BPOM enforcement is real. The Telegram and WhatsApp resellers shipping Thailand-sourced peptides and GLP-1 vials across the Java Sea via courier are looking at materially higher seizure rates and personal legal exposure for the buyer. We will not route to those channels. Some Canggu / Ubud clinics offer a research-peptide menu (BPC-157, GHK-Cu, often alongside IV vitamins) at wellness-spa pricing; we do not route to research-peptide channels anywhere regardless of how nomad-friendly the framing. The documentation pages at panya.health/peptide are info-only everywhere until lawyer + payment-processor review on non-GLP-1 affiliate routing closes.
Match you to a BPOM-channel clinic.
Take the quiz from a Bali IP and you get matched against the 11-signal rubric to a BIMC, Siloam, Body Tonic, or Cocoon route that scores 70/100 or higher. The match accounts for dose progression, your nomad-stay duration, USD pricing conversion, BPOM compliance evidence on compounded options, and whether you need a prescription formatted for travel insurance reimbursement. Where a clinic scores below the routable threshold we say so rather than skip-listing.
Where these rules live.
- BPOM (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan): pom.go.id for the official medicines register, prescription-only classifications, and the late-2025 import-enforcement directives.
- Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kementerian Kesehatan, Kemenkes) for the framework legislation under Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health.
- Indonesian Customs (Bea Cukai) personal-import rules for medicines: small carry-on quantities tolerated with documentation; courier shipments scrutinised more strictly post-2025.
- IDI (Indonesian Doctors Association) for physician registration and Bali-specific practice rules under the Bali Provincial Health Office.
